Symwave’s SW6888 device is a cost-effective swipe-type fingerprint sensor that is ideally suited for consumer electronic applications such as:

• USB flash drives
• PC keyboards
• Notebook computers
• Security touch pads (door locks, gun safes, etc.)

The SW6888 includes built-in image processing and uses state-of-art biometric technology to capture and transmit fingerprint images with up to 256-contrast levels. It supports a resolution of 500dpi and uses still motion detection and binarization techniques.

The SW6888 supports standard computer interfaces such as SPI, Parallel Interface and Flash Interface. The surface of the sensor is protected by an ultra hard coating with Mohs Hardness rating of 7+, which protects the sensor surface from scratches and erosion. The sensor meets the IEC61000-4-2 ESD standard for air discharge of no less than 15K volts.
